Mi Ae Lipe is a Seattle car enthusiast and citizen advocate who takes a friendly, practical approach to the simple question of how we drive, bike, and walk safely with less stress and more enjoyment. She blogs on her website Driving in the Real World, Tweets daily driving news and tips at @DrivingReal, and was a former monthly columnist for BMW CCA’s Roundel magazine.

She frequently collaborates with government organizations, NGOs, and individuals. She and fellow citizen Mark Butcher are recipients of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) 2017 Award for Public Service for their work in improving new driver training in Washington State. Mi Ae is also a member of the Autonomous Vehicle Work Group in Washington State, working with safety and education issues around ADAS and AVs.
